I grew up with coffee the way most people grow up with music — it was always there, always on, always tied to something that mattered. A conversation. A morning. A person you love.
My wife grew up the same way, just a few thousand miles south in Peru. She had her cup, I had mine, and when we found each other, we found out we'd been having the same ritual all along — just in different languages, on different mountains.
We're a Colombian and Peruvian couple based in Baltimore, Maryland. We started Papi's Daily Roast because we wanted to share that — not the idea of our cultures, but the actual taste of them. The real thing. Sourced from the highlands we grew up hearing about, roasted in small batches in California, shipped to your door.
From a YouTube character to a coffee brand.
Before the coffee, there was Lofi Papi — a YouTube channel I built around lo-fi music and a cartoon character I drew to look like myself. I named him Papi. It stuck.
Around the same time, my wife and I were deep into our daily coffee ritual — the kind that starts before anything else does. The kind that sets the whole day. One morning the two things clicked: the character, the culture, the cup. Papi's Daily Roast was born from all three.
Before coffee, I spent years behind a bar. Bartending taught me that connection doesn't need much — a familiar smell, a warm glass, someone on the other side willing to slow down for a minute. Coffee does the same thing. It always has. I just didn't have the right name for it yet.

Coffee is a language all on its own. It connects complete strangers through a familiar scent, sound, and taste — and invokes conversations that wouldn't have happened otherwise. Every origin we source, every roast we approve, has to earn its place in your morning.
Culture
Culture is our backbone. It's how we were raised, the values we carry, the traditions we protect, the way our families made their coffee and why it tasted the way it did. We started with Colombia and Peru because that's where we're from. But this brand was always meant to grow.
Connection
Two strangers at the same coffee station. The same cup. The same familiar comfort. That shared moment — that's what we're building toward. Every bag we ship is a small invitation: slow down, brew something good, and be present for whoever's with you.
We're bringing a little bit of home to you — while sharing a little bit of our home with the world.
We started with two origins because that's where our roots are. But Papi's Daily Roast was built to grow — more origins, more cultures, more stories in every bag. Every cup shared is an opportunity to learn something, to feel somewhere, to connect with someone.
